Early in my tenure at Eventide, I built the test fixture used to spot-check UI PCBs for a line of guitar pedals (including the Blackhole Pedal). This was a rig that would stably probe test points on a small PCB and check if various voltages were at their expected values.
I customized a consumer bed-of-nails test fixture and designed a circuit board to receive and test various voltages. It uses an mbed microcontroller and has a readout display to indicate any failures. I also designed and 3D-printed a case for it.
I made a few of these for our manufacturers to use during early production phases, and to use for spot-checks should any problems arise.
